At Gruhini Silks, every saree is more than just fabric — it is a story of passion, heritage, and purpose.
With over 20 years in the corporate world, Sunitha always carried a deep love for fashion and textiles. Even during her corporate journey, her heart was quietly weaving dreams. In 2007, she pursued fashion designing and began creating salwar suits for friends and family — a small step that kept her passion alive.
But this passion had deeper roots.
Coming from a weavers’ community, textiles were not just a profession — they were a part of her identity. The richness of handcrafted fabrics, especially sarees, created a strong emotional pull towards something more meaningful.
In 2022, she made a bold life decision — to step away from her corporate career and fully embrace her passion.
Along with her husband Raghavendra, the journey of Gruhini Silks began. By January 2023, they started showcasing their carefully curated saree collections across exhibitions in Udupi, Mangalore, Madikeri, Mysore, Puttur, Karkala, Suratkal, and Bangalore. The love and encouragement from customers were overwhelming — every appreciation strengthened their belief.
This led to the opening of their physical store in Sanjaynagar, Bangalore, on August 11, 2023.

We are proud authorized dealers of Ilkal sarees, Khun fabrics, and Ajrakh Modal Silk, and we also curate unique handcrafted sarees from different states of India. Every piece is handpicked with care — not just for its beauty, but for the story, craftsmanship, and authenticity it carries.

As we grew, one thing became very clear…
In today’s world, people discover, explore, and shop online more than ever before. Customers from different cities who experienced our collections at exhibitions kept asking us the same question:

We realized that our sarees — and the weavers behind them — deserved to reach beyond just one store or one city.
Moving online was not just a business decision.
