A Personal Journey into the World of Khun Fabrics and Weavers

There was a time when I spent my life in boardrooms, meetings, sales targets, and corporate deadlines.

Born and raised in Bangalore, I always knew my mother belonged to a weavers' family from Maharashtra. Khun fabric, Ilkal sarees, and handwoven textiles were part of our family heritage. Yet, during my corporate career, I never truly understood the value of what our ancestors had created with their hands.

Everything changed when I stepped into the weaving clusters and met the artisans behind these beautiful creations.

For the first time, I saw the stories woven into every thread.

What surprised me even more was discovering how much people across India admire Karnataka's rich textile heritage. From Mumbai to Delhi, Ahmedabad to Chennai, women are proudly embracing Khun fabrics, Ilkal sarees, and handcrafted weaves that have been preserved for generations.

The craft that I once took for granted has become my life's mission.

Today, through Gruhini Silks, my husband Raghavendra and I work directly with weavers to bring authentic handcrafted textiles to women who value culture, craftsmanship, and heritage.

Every Khun fabric we curate is more than a piece of cloth.

It is a story of our family.
It is a story of our weavers.
It is a story of Karnataka's timeless heritage.

And I feel proud to be a small part of keeping that legacy alive for future generations.
